Victorian Her Majesty's Girdle White Cotton Lace Short Sporting Riding Corset
This antique Victorian era Her Majesty's Girdle white cotton lace short sporting riding corset dates from 1900. It is made of an off white cotton coutil fabric, with white lace and cream silk ribbon trim edging woven around the top and bottom. This lovely ladies lingerie short sporting riding corset has a straight busk, steel hook front, original ribbon lacing on the back, is cut under the bust and cut high at the hips to allow easy movement and has rows of cording, boned stays sewn inside. It is stamped inside with "Her Majesty's Girdle" label. The corset measures 8 inches long in the front, 6 inches along the sides, with a 24 inch adjustable waist. It is in good wearable condition, with some faint age spotting staining discoloration and the corset strings are frayed. This is truly a rare avant-garde design for the turn of the century sportswomen!
