This auction is for a beautiful antique 1800's quilted bonnet. It is much harder to find these early quilted bonnets sewn for the harsh New England winters.  As you can see it is in excellent condition and can be worn or beautifully put on display on an old primitive hat stand. It measures 22 inches around the front brim and 14 inches around the back neck.  The brim is beautifully pleated and measures 3 inches wide at mid brim. The neck covering measures 4 inches wide.The bonnet measures 20 inches mid front over the crown of the cap .  Excellent condition. Lined in a thick brown silk. Batting is most likely a wool. The only flaws I can see is silk wear of the pale green silk ribbons front brim, silk wear around inner neck and wear of the silk tie ribbons.....see magnified photos. This is a well made, hardy piece of ladies primitive clothing to add to your collection of early bonnets.
