Please serious bidders only.   This is a magnificent Victorian  fancy bustle dress from the 1880s in a chocolate silk trimmed in the most gorgeous bronze and brown beading! The bodice is trimmed with beaded medallions at the front neckline, waist, and cuffs. All down the front are little beaded ball dangles and it fastens with bronze bead like buttons. It is lined with cotton and stayed. The skirt front piece goes on an angle and has the little beaded balls hanging from the edge. It has the back bustle and underneath it is pleated. The hem is pleated and it is also lined in cotton. The condition is very good with just some minor damages:Bodice -  There is a slight underarm stain, two missing buttons (one is missing the middle), a tiny neck repair on the very top edge, the seams have been let out (photo), a seam seperation on one sleeve (photo), and a few missing dangles and bead loss. I think the beaded medallions hook onto the buttons.Skirt -  hooks and eyes are missing on the waist ties that hold up the back of the bustle, a couple of tiny pin holes, and the worst is the waistband on the skirt where the hooks and eyes are missing and it needs reinforcement due to a tear and wear.  It measures:Bodice:neck.....14"bust......35"waist......26 1/2"shoulder to shoulder.....15"sleeve.........19"  Skirt:waist..........26"waist to hem.......40" The dress form is a size 6 and it fits snug - overall shoulder to hem ...........57"      I have described this item to the best of my ability - if you have any questions please ask me before bidding.
