For Study/portrait 1800′s Silk Victorian Gibson Girl Bodice & Skirt No Reserve

Be swept back in time! From my traveling museum collection, which began at age 15, I offer for your consideration:
For Study, Display or Portrait- A magnificently trimmed 2 piece late 1890's bodice & skirt ensemble in the true Gibson Girl style. The boned bodice has an inner front layer that buttons & hooks. When I received it from the estate several buttons near the waist were removed and hooks and eyes were added to give more room. I believe that this was done in that era. Over this inner middle piece is a wonderful jacket with an ivory center piece. It closes down the front side with hooks and eyes. Draped over the ivory center section are layers of lovely Soutache trim with dangles. There are two spots on the center ivory silk where is is beginning to shatter or pull apart and two small brown spots. Also on the bodice jacket both inner sleeves, the back shoulder and seams along the back have been mended over the years, quite probably by the prior owner. There is a small mend to the delicate lace trim at the neckline also.
The skirt has fullness in the back, a slight train, and closes with hook & eye closure. There is a burn mark that was mended on the front side of the skirt, barely visible except upon close inspection. It is mended in the original material and looks like a burning ember from the fire may have pitted it. (It's fascinating to study these pieces and see the hand of the owner evident.) The close up photo shows the problem areas.
Despite the problems and that fact that this shows signs of age wear it has some wonderful attributes. The lace capped sleeves for one thing are beautiful! It's over all appearance on the display form with the Soutache trim across the front is quite lovely. It was a stunning dress in its day worn by a wealthy woman. It would make a great study dress to create a pattern for the historic re-enactor. It would also be lovely to have a portrait taken in as I had done.
The size is small and would fit a woman size 5/6 in today's measurements.
