This wonderful corset cover is lovely!

It is in EXCELLENT condition!

This is a lovely 19th century Victorian Corset Cover that would have been layered over the corset for a finished undergarment look, so common of the era.   This lovely corset cover is a white cotton batiste with a cotton white-on-white petite gingham waistband.  There is a drawstring ribbon (original) cord which interlaces through the eyelets at the upper part of the bodice near the neckline.  The upper edge is scalloped embroidery and finished with a precious 1/2" white lace trim.  The drawstring can be drawn up which ruffles up the lace top around the shoulders and neckline for a darling look! 

The front of this corset cover has beautiful embroidered die-cut eyelets, flowers and leaves that are center front and also across the capped shoulders.  Small white eyelet flowers scatter across the front of the top.  Down the center front is an embroidered scalloped edged with an overlap that hides 4 mother-of-pearl buttons.  At the bottom front of the waistline is a hook-and-eye for enclosure.  This darling corset cover is roomy enough to cover all the undergarments worn during the Victorian era.  However, it is lovely enough to be worn as is!  It is also roomy enough in size to be worn by many and have a more blousey billowy look or more fitted depending on your size.

There is one teeny spot about 1 cm in size on the front band.  I have not washed this lovely corset cover.  The drawstring ribbon is twisted and shows wear but is still quite durable, however it could be easily replaced if desired.  Otherwise, this beautiful Victorian Corset Cover is pristine and in remarkable condition for its age of 100+ years old!

This lovely corset cover is practical for wearing today  and could be worn as a sweet dainty top or is great for Civil War, Victorian, Southern Belle, Renaissance or Medieval period reenactment attire. It is in a standard white color which can accommodate any dress.

It is so pretty! The Victorian eyelet lace is beautiful!
