From a local estate, here is a very nice early corset. This is a two-piece model with laces in the center, it measures only 20" across when laid out as shown! Marked "Venus Style 142" on one edge. This is an amazing Victorian wedding gown. The construction of this is very complicated. It is very heavy. I'm not sure what the fabric is but it feels like a heavy silk. The fabric is strong the main problem with this is how dirty it is. It is not stained with perspiration but looks like something happened to it while it was in storage… full details here
